After loading up on rosquillas in Somoto I decided to take a drive to Ocotal in Neuva Segovia for no other reason other than to say that I've been to Neuva Segovia. I had no earthly idea what we were going to find there and seeing as how it was Sunday and most everything would probably be closed I wasn't expecting much. The drive through the mountains is actually quite beautiful. Considering the fact that we didn't have anything better to do it was a nice way to spend a few hours.

| Ocotal is actually a lot bigger town than I was expecting. They actually have 2 red lights which is 2 more than most Nicaraguan towns have. We spent about an hour or so driving around and pretty much everything was closed. |

On the way back to Esteli we saw something kind of frightening. A truck crashed over a hillside and plunged 100 feet down into a ravine. It's a good reminder of the perils of driving in Nicaragua.

Restaurante La Parrillada |
| When we got back to Managua after a full day of driving I was in the mood for a good steak. If you want a good steak in Managua I highly recommend La Parrillada Restuarante in Los Robles. It's located near the Hilton Hotel in a little section of town that's loaded with restaurants. La Parrillada makes a wicked carne asada. It's a little pricey by Managua standards but well worth the money. |
