| Of course, when we got home the first order of business was loading up the pig with money. Somehow I think that the Nica tradition has more to do with coins than folding money but my wife didn't want to hear talk of "coins". She also wasn't too keen on the kind of folding money with pictures of people with Spanish names on it either. It seems my wife has a thing for dead US presidents... |

On Sunday we loaded up the car and headed back to San Juan del Sur for another day at the beach. The weather was absolutely fantastic and the waves were again HUGE. I swear, SJDS has the best body surfing waves I've ever experienced. I can ride waves underwater so long that I literally have to kick out of them because I can't hold my breath any longer. My wifes cousin and her boyfriend Mario came along on this trip. He had never been up on top of the mountain so we took a ride up there. I can tell you that the road to get up there was not designed with a Toyota Yaris in mind but we made it. |

Someone is building something on top of the mountain but none of us could figure out what it is. It looks like an observation platform but where they put it is kind of odd. It's about 50 feet back from edge of the cliff and it isn't very tall. I guess we'll find out what it is when they're done with it.

| On the way back home I stopped and took a few photos of Ometepe's 2 volcanos, Concepcion and Madera. Most of the time these 2 volcanos are completely obscured by clouds so this was a rare opportunity to get a few decent photos. Concepcion is an active volcano and it very well could be the cause of the next great natural disaster in Nicaragua. Most of the people that live on Ometepe have no idea that volcano is still active and little has been done to prepare them in the event of an eruption. |
